Are you a professional woman striving to build a successful career whilst also juggling everything life throws at you?
Are you looking for brilliant advice on how to make a great life and not just a good living, from someone who’s already walked in your shoes?
If you’re nodding, Her Career Her Life podcast is for you.
I’ve designed this podcast in a series of ‘seasons’ with each one designed to tackle a specific flashpoint in our career and lives. I’ll cover some of the biggest challenges I’ve faced in my successful, 30-year corporate career, starting with how to be successful in a new job.
Each season has multiple episodes designed to give you a ton of valuable content and lots of real-life stories providing a view into my career including the trials, tribulations, successes, and failures. It’s an honest approach, I welcome you into my world, so you can learn from my experiences and my mistakes. I give you my best tips and actionable advice you can put into practice right away and provide detailed notes and lots of great resources so you can continue learning.
The first season is all about the challenge of starting a new job and the first 10 episodes will dive into the things we need to think about when we’re embarking on a new role - whether that’s in a new organisation or if you’re being promoted within the business you already work for.
Future seasons will cover other challenges - for the second season, I’ll tackle that thorny issue of work-life balance, or rather how to avoid sacrificing your personal life for your career.
If you’re a guy and you’d like to listen, then you are (of course) also welcome.
If there are topics for other seasons you’d like me to cover, I’d love to hear from you at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Hello and welcome to Her Career, Her Life, I’m Elise Finn and I’m your host and the creator of this podcast aimed at helping professional women make a great life and not just a good living.
I know there will be things I won’t do well in launching this podcast, I know it’s going to be imperfect - just like me. I hope you choose to come with me on this journey, I’d love to have you along, and I want to say thank you, not just in words but in action too - so I have an exciting free opportunity to share with you - stay on until the end of this episode to learn more.
So who is this podcast for?
It’s for professional women everywhere. It’s for you if you’re striving to build a successful career, whilst juggling the many demands life throws at us. We know a great career is not worth sacrificing our life for, but finding the point where we can be successful at work and life isn’t easy!
I called it Her Career Her Life - not because this is all about my career and my life - but because its a podcast that’s for professional women striving to make a great life and not just a good living.
A lot of the topics I’ll cover are relevant to men and they might also benefit from listening, but as a woman, I’ve got that set of experiences that comes with the challenges that a woman faces. I’ve learned my lessons being a woman and I’ll draw on those experiences and talk about that female perspective in the stories I’ll share on this podcast.
I’m planning on creating the podcast in a series of ‘seasons’ - each season will focus on addressing the challenges created by a particular flashpoint in our careers and our lives.
The first season is all about the challenge of starting a new job and the first 10 episodes will dive into the things we need to think about when we’re embarking on a new role - whether that’s in a new organisation or if you’re being promoted within the business you already work for.
For the second season, I’m thinking of tackling that thorny issue of work-life balance - or rather how to avoid sacrificing your life for your career.

I’m a personal and business coach - I help professional women build careers, lives, and businesses they love
More importantly, before I became a coach I was in your shoes.
I've spent 30 years in corporate world - climbing the career ladder from placement student and graduate through many steps, trials and tribulations to the top of my corporate career which was being a member of the Executive team of a business valued at $3.5Bn
My career has been colourful and varied from contractor to individual contributor to a global leader of a team of more than 600 people.
But the most important job I’ve ever had is the never-ending one of being a Mum - I have 3 wonderful children and now the joy of a grandson as well.
For all you working Mums out there juggling your career with the wonderful challenges of raising a family, you’re not alone. I have walked in your shoes and will share the practical wisdom I’ve accumulated over the years on how to make this work.
