It's a lovely sunny Saturday, but just because it’s the weekend it doesn’t mean that negative, horrible voice inside our head is giving us the break we deserve
I wonder what your Inner Critic's talking to you about this weekend?
I’ll be prepared to make a bet that it’s not positive, kind thoughts?
And isn't that just typical! It’s the weekend and we need some well deserved rest and relaxation, the last thing we need is a critical nag on a repeat loop inside our heads. But sometimes when things slow down in our world, our Inner Critic just takes this as an opportunity to go into overdrive.
They are usually very quick to spot a gap and then lean in and hit us hard where it hurts!
If this is you, rest assured you're definitely not alone. We all have an Inner Critic and if you and I have anything in common, I'll bet your Inner Critic has a series of well worn criticisms ready to fling at you.
But it's really liberating to know that our Inner Critic is like an unruly child, sometimes they benefit from supervision and guidance. They can certainly be tamed and taught some manners. I know, because I’ve worked hard on taming my Inner Critic. This is a job that's never 'done', but I do have a very effective exercise I’d love to share with you if you’d like to start working on your Inner Critic this weekend.
My exercise is free and I know it works because I created it for myself and I use it with my coaching clients to great success.
You can train yourself to focus on the positive and not the negative.
You can teach your Inner Critic to back off.
You can rewrite your own narrative.

With my warmest wishes for a wonderful weekend.
