I love cycling - good old fashioned outdoor cycling on winding country roads, but this weekend habit usually goes by the wayside in winter when the wind and rain isn't that enticing!
But now Spring is here again in Southern Ireland, we can get out again on the beautiful country roads of County Cork.
And it's glorious. Despite the inevitable saddle soreness, getting back into this habit makes me feel alive, sparkly, excited and as energetic as a sugar fuelled toddler!
But exercise isn't always this much fun!
A session in the gym (my reluctant replacement in the winter months) doesn't do this for me.
My usual run on the beach comes close, but just misses the mark (there's no prizes for second!)
There's just something about cycling that no other exercise touches.
And that's what happens when you find some kind of exercise you love, you just want to do it and it seems like a wonderful gift, not a chore.
We all need to exercise more as we get older and for women in or approaching menopause this is even more important, as it helps counteract all the usual side effects and gives you a much needed energy boost.
What exercise do you love that you haven't been doing lately?
Can you recapture that one thing that brings you joy? It won't feel like a chore, it'll become your happy choice.
